Bob Hurley

Successful surfers seem to have a knack for making the right moves at the right time on a wave. The same could be said for the business mind of lifelong surfer Bob Hurley. Born in Canada, Hurley moved to Orange County with his family in 1963 and began surfing at age 13. By the time he was 21, Hurley was an established shaper, going on to work for Infinity, Wave Tools and Lightning Bolt before opening a small factory-retail outlet in Huntington Beach called Hurley Surfboards.

Matt Biolos

Biolos was born (1969) in Anaheim, California, raised in Chino, and began surfing in 1983 during a family vacation to Orange County’s Dana Point. Nearly 30 years after Matt “Mayhem” Biolos first entered the shaping scene, sanding surfboards under Herbie Fletcher, he owns Lost Surfboards, one of the biggest and most recognizable surfboard brands in the world.
